Hey frens, I’ve been a bit quiet in 2023 about making music as I’ve been shuffling life stuffz around. But! This last last year I performed a handful of songs I feel very proud of, and wanted to release them. This is a single off the album being released in the next year. **ABOUT THE TUNE** I usually write with modular synthesizers and have a broader experimental sound, but this EP leans towards more standard electronica song structures being spit out by sequencers and drum machines and recorded direct to Ableton and lightly treated and mixed. You put the guitars IN the modular? . . Tele and ebow running through a simulated tape delay and then through an Erbe verb. Drones and rhythms made with multiple oscillators and Elektron Rytm

What makes a cat, a cat? . . . . . No reception, and in the middle of nowhere for a couple of days is a much needed rest from working in the service industry where guests don’t where masks and coworkers get Covid bc of their inability to have empathy.

San Diego Synth Lab

Hey everyone! So we got the space approved by Balboa Park for National Make Music Day! This will be the first steps to some workshops we are planning on having in the future (if we find a spot that allows us, stay tuned on that). As for this event, we will have a “petting zoo” of synthesizers and drum machines for you to ask questions about and tinker with. See you on June 21st!

Put out a new video for my fivepaw music project!

This video explores the ideas of time travel and multiple dimensions, a man exploring a long lost civilization. The three characters being the same person from alternate realities with the same curiosities… ghosts and remnants of decisions we make, imprinting the world around us, leaving impressions of dissipating energy.

What is he doing?

My first live performance! @ Verbatim Books. I had a lot of, “what are you doing with all those cables?’ questions after. ha! Great turn out and interesting to see how many people in San Diego are down to know more about this type of music.

Wren Hifi record consoles

Been having a lot of fun helping Wren HiFi build these record consoles. I think they’re on to something special and am stoked to be getting my hands dirty. Currently learning how to woodwork and paint these beautiful wood pieces. A calm meditative process that I am keen to keep tapping into.

Building things and stuff Anushri from Mutable Instruments

Stoked on finishing this bad boy. Very SH-101 sounding and has some cool modular capability via the inputs on the right side.

Super clean PCB layout, Mutable Instruments is on top of their game!

Finished one of my more intense projects. I’m used to building guitar pedals, so building a synth was a nervous project to take on. But! I did it, and it works and sounds amazing with no hiccups in the building process. Was thinking of doing my own 3D print for the case, but love the clear orange that Mutable Instruments sells.

One of my favorite bands to perform with. We have a long lost 10 song album recorded, but currently it is sitting on the shelf of an Alien species not wanting to be named. With a little searching, some sounds can be found on the interwebs. We do have this bandcamp page with a couple studio recorded tunes on it.

Part of an ongoing art process. Destroy what is most precious.

Some harsh changes find their way into our lives. Currently being abrasive in my artistic output. Here is a piece I made while taking a literal approach to Eastern philosophy, let go of (destroy) what you love and then you will be finally free.

This is the result of filling a Casio keyboard full of bags of lighter fluid and watching what type of circuit bending madness will happen when leads, resistors, and capacitors fuse together via the flame.
